MTV Picks Up "Kaya"

MTV has picked up the half-hour drama "Kaya", shooting in Vancouver starting in June.

The show is described as the 'tribulations' faced by a teenage girl when she and her band become rock stars.

Between eight and 12 episodes have been greenlit.

Danielle "Heroes" Savre is attached to star in the series created by Deborah Joy LeVine and exec produced by Tony Krantz, Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley.

The single-camera show intends to 'expose' a "rock star on the brink of destruction and the underbelly of the music industry."
