Vancouver ACM Siggraph: "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"...

Vancouver's ACM SIGGRAPH will present RICHARD WILLIAMS: THE ANIMATOR'S SURVIVAL KIT, followed by a special screening of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", Monday, October 27 2008 @ the Vancouver International Film Centre, 1181 Seymour Street.

Williams, 3-time Oscar winner and Director of Animation of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" will be present in person to engage in Q&A with the audience, followed by a book signing and a screening of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", celebrating its 20th anniversary this year...

"Who Framed Roger Rabbit", won 4 academy awards and nominated for 3 others, marking "...the beginning of a renaissance in feature film animation, as well as being the swan song for two huge figures from an earlier age, Mel Blanc (Looney Tunes) and Mae Questel (Betty Boop). Using traditional hand painted cell animation, the filmmakers blended live action film with the cartoon world in a story that blends the two worlds together creating a fabulous and zany internal logic where the presence of the "toons" just makes sense. The story is delightful, and the film is great fun from beginning to end. Bob Hoskins turns in a pitch perfect performance as the human dragged into the middle of all this cartoon mayhem, and he manages to avoid being upstaged by his inky co-stars..."
