Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures, reports that actors Jonah Hill ("Superbad") and Channing Tatum ("Dear John") are set to star in a 'contemporary' motion picture adaptation of "21 Jump Street".Both Hill and Tatum have been given executive producer credits on the project, to be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from a screenplay by Michael Bacall, based on a treatment by Hill and Bacall.
Neal H. Moritz will produce, with the late Stephen J. Cannell, creator of the original Vancouver-lensed TV series, receiving a posthumous producer credit.Hannah Minghella and Jonathan Kadin will oversee production of the film on behalf of Columbia.
