"Man Of Steel" Flys To British Columbia - September 21, 2011

As VancouverFilm.Net first reported August 10, 2011, "Superman: Man of Steel" (working title "Autumn Frost"), will film in British Columbia, September 21/11 to Jan 20/12.

Crews have been preparing the film since early spring, including building sets on available stages in and around Vancouver. Filming will also take place on land owned by a local First Nations group, a neighbouring town playing the role of a small, Alaskan fishing village and at an industrial dock along the Pacific ocean.

Using Chicago as a backdrop, "Autumn Frost" started principal photography in the US, August 1, 2011, directed by Zack Snyder ("Watchmen").

"...'Clark Kent'/'Kal-El' is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from 'Krypton', an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question—'Why am I here?'

"Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents 'Martha' and 'Jonathan Kent', Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack.

"Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as 'Superman', not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but also to protect the ones he loves."

"Superman: Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill as 'Clark Kent/'Kal-El', Amy Adams as 'Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as 'General Zod', Antje Traue as 'Faora', Russell Crowe as 'Jor-El', Julia Ormond as 'Lara Lor-Van', Laurence Fishburne as 'Perry White', Kevin Costner as 'Jonathan Kent', Diane Lane as 'Martha Kent', Harry Lennix as 'General Swanwick' and Christopher Meloni as 'Colonel Hardy'.

With a soundtrack by Hans Zimmer, "Superman: Man Of Steel", from Legendary Pictures, Syncopy Films, DC Comics and Cruel and Unusual Films, will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, June 14, 2013.
