Studios Take Canada

While most Canadians loathe the idea of becoming the ‘51st’ US state, thanks to millions of cheap hand guns, a two-tier justice system and a corrupt deep state that goes back further than the American Revolution, the threat of a 25 percent tariff on Canadian exports has depressed the value of the Canadian dollar to under 70 cents (USD) making it even cheaper to shoot movies and TV series in Toronto and Vancouver Canada:

With major studios and streamers returning north to shoot originals, whether big budget tentpoles, TV series or small indie films, business is booming according to Eoin Egan, co-managing partner and COO at Cinespace Studios.

“Toronto’s unique combination of stable incentives, world-class infrastructure, and unmatched crew talent — combined with its commitment to crew and performer diversity — establishes it as a premier Canadian destination for film and television production.
