Loken Is Insight's "Painkiller Jane"

Vancouver-shot Comic Book-To-Film TV Series

Starting November 13, Vancouver-based actress Kristanna "Terminator 3" Loken will star in 22 one-hour TV episodes of comic book-to-film Painkiller Jane, produced by Kirk Shaw's Insight Film Studios, in association with Starz Media and Kickstart Comic Arts Studio.

Loosely adapted from the comic book series, Painkiller Jane focuses on 'Jane Vasko', a DEA agent recruited by a covert government organization. Her mission: to capture genetically-enhanced 'Neuros' who possess superhuman powers.

During the course of her first investigation, Jane discovers she also possesses extraordinary powers, with an ability to 'regenerate'.

As she continues to work with the government to hunt Neuros, Jane tries to uncover the cause of her own transformation and what connection she shares with the people she is pursuing.

Painkiller Jane is executive produced by Gil Grant, with Loken acting as co-executive producer.

The series is slated to premiere on SCI FI spring 2007, followed by a domestic broadcast weekly syndication window fall 2007. Starz Media will handle North American DVD/syndication sales, as well as distribution to key international markets.

Loken recently starred/produced the indie film Lime Salted Love and will appear as a guest star on the 2007 season of BC-filmed Showtime series The L Word.
