Wednesday evening it was a bike ride over to Homer Street and the Threewave Software Rooftop Patio party, sponsored by New Media BC & WIGI. Framed by the Vancouver skyline and fortified by Red Truck lager, animators, gamers and developers enjoyed grilled lamb, beef and chicken burgers.
Threewave is noted as a triple-A game studio, hiring local talent and providing content for Activision's "Castle Wolfenstein" and Lucas Arts "Jedi Academy"...

ThinkFilm Goes To "Battle In Seattle"...

As previously reported in our TIFF 2007 Film Market update, ThinkFilm has confirmed acquiring US rights to "Battle in Seattle" from producers Insight Film Studios and Remstar.

"This partnership will help both Insight and ThinkFilm benefit and grow", said Insight's Kirk Shaw.

Filmed in Vancouver and Seattle, directed by Stuart Townsend and starring actress Charlize "Aeon Flux" Theron, "Battle" re-enacts riots during the meeting of the World Trade Organization in 1999.

"Battle in Seattle" will play the Vancouver International Film Festival Oct. 3.
