Pre-production has begun for a spring start in Vancouver of the big screen adaptation of author Beverly Cleary's "Ramona" books.

Producers are Denise Di Novi of "Little Women" fame and Alison Greenspan who secured the film rights from Cleary, a former librarian who also wrote the "Henry Huggins" and "Mouse and the Motorcycle" book series.

Location manager Neil Robertson secured a house on Vancouver's west side for both exteror/interior shooting.

Ramona's sister 'Beatrice', will be played by actress Celina Gomez for director Eizabeth "Aquamarine" Allen, while a nationwide search continues to cast the lead of 8-year old 'Ramona Quimby'...
