Zack Snyder Is Waiting For "Superman"

According to reports, director Zack Snyder ("Watchmen") is in current negotiations to direct the new "Superman" feature, titled "Superman: The Man Of Steel", for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.

Warners previously released Snyder's Montreal-lensed "300" and Vancouver-lensed "Watchmen". In March the studio will release Snyder's Vancouver-lensed "Sucker Punch".

Director/producer Christopher Nolan ("Batman Begins") will oversee the reboot.

Screenplay of the new film is by David S. Goyer ("Blade") , based on a story by Goyer and Nolan, who will produce with Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder.

Legendary's Thomas Tull will executive produce.

Warners will have to greenlight the feature before losing 'certain rights' to the character in 2013, after a judge recently ruled on behalf of the heirs of "Superman" comic book creator Jerry Siegel.
