The CW's "Arrow" TV series will see the return of DC Comics' villain 'Deadshot' in the episode "Dead to Rights", directed by Glen Winter from a script by Geoff Johns, airing February 27, 2013 :
"...'Oliver' (Stephen Amell) and 'Diggle' (David Ramsey) learn that 'Deadshot' (Michael Rowe) is still alive and his next target is 'Malcom' (John Barrowman). Malcom invites 'Tommy' (Colin Donnell) to attend a benefit honoring Malcom for his work with 'Starling City' but Tommy refuses to attend. Oliver encourages his friend to mend his relationship with his father while he can. Meanwhile, Oliver struggles to balance his new relationship with 'McKenna' (Janina Gavankar) and his duties as 'Arrow'..."
"Our 'Deadshot' is a more grounded and realistic take on the character," said producer Marc Guggenheim, "than the fully costumed and masked super-villain that you see in the comics."
The original 'Deadshot' aka 'Floyd Lawton', was created by Bob Kane, David Vern Reed and Lew Schwartz.
The character debuted in DC Comics "Batman' #59 (June/July 1950), as a dapper killer-for-hire, heralding himself in 'Gotham City' as a new crimefighter.
But Lawton is sent to jail after 'Batman' and 'Commissioner Gordon' publicly expose his plot to become the king of Gotham's underworld.
Following his release from prison, Lawton changed his costume from top coat and tails to a red jumpsuit and metal face plate with a red-eye targeting device.
