The CW has renewed Vancouver-lensed "Arrow" for a Third Season, with the series continuing to make gains, according to The CW's president Mark Pedowitz.
"Arrow" executive producers Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, also confirmed more DC Comics characters that will appear on Season 3 alongside regular characters:
'Walter Steele', debuting in DC's "Green Arrow' Vol 4 #1, is the new CEO of 'Queen Industries'.
'Merlyn', debuting in DC's "Justice League of America" #94 appears as a villainous archer and member of the deadly 'League of Assassins'.
'China White', debuting in DC's "Green Arrow Year One" #3, appears as the leader of a large drug cartel that supplied the bulk of heroin to the Pacific Rim.
'Constantine Drakon' debuting in DC's "Green Arrow" #27, is a Greek assassin and one of the most feared martial artists in the DC Universe.
She assumes the costume and identity of her mother, the original 'Black Canary'.
'The Huntress', debuting in DC's "The Huntress" #1, is a vigilante who secretly sabotages her father’s crime family.
'Speedy', debuting in DC's "More Fun Comics" #73, was the ward and sidekick of Arrow, but will now be Oliver Queen's sister 'Thea Queen', who takes up the bow later in the series.
'Dr. Anthony Ivo', appearing in the island flashbacks of 'Oliver' (Stephen Amell), emerges as a brutal but ruthless scientist who will stop at nothing to unearth a breakthrough that dates back to the latter days of World War II.
Debuting in DC Comics, "Brave and the Bold" #30 (June 1960), Ivo was created by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky, as a criminal mastermind and scientific genius, responsible for the creation of the androids 'Amazo' and the 'Tomorrow Woman'.
Ivo also created a serum, providing him with an extremely long life span. The serum also left his body twisted and malformed. As a result of the serum, Ivo also developed a thick, resilient second skin. The skin is bulletproof, and impenetrable to most forms of energy.
'Barry Allen' aka 'Flash' is a 'Central City' assistant police forensic investigator who comes to 'Starling City' to look into a series of unexplained robberies which he believes may be connected to his tragic past.
As a comic book fanboy, Barry is obsessed with 'Arrow' and ends up working with 'Oliver' and 'Felicity' before crossing paths with the vigilante archer.
Created by writer Gardner Fox and illustrator Harry Lampert, the original Flash first appeared in "Flash Comics" #1 (January 1940).
The character possesses the ability to run and move extremely fast, use superhuman reflexes and seemingly violate certain laws of physics.
