Do Not Work Notice - "VIPER"

Attention all Talent Agents and UBCP/ACTRA Members:
 
"Please be advised that the project entitled “Viper”, being produced by Scorpion Productions Inc. is not signatory to any UBCP/ACTRA agreements, as it’s producer, Corey Large, has been declared an Unfair Producer by the Union.
 
As per article A903 of the BC Master Production Agreement, Performers shall not be required to work for a Producer declared unfair by the Union.
 
Additionally, it is a contravention of the UBCP/ACTRA By-laws and Constitution for a union member to audition or work on any non-union production in recorded media. A member must only work for an engager who is in good standing – i.e., has not been declared an Unfair Producer.
 
Accordingly, there are significant consequences for full members, apprentice members, and background members found to be auditioning for, or working on, a non-union production or for an Unfair Producer. There are also consequences for talent agencies found to be directing members to non-union work. 
 
We will update you if the Unfair Producer declaration is lifted and an agreement with the producer has been signed.
