"The Battle In Seattle"
Actress Charlize "Aeon Flux" Theron will star in the ensemble drama "The Battle in Seattle", with Andre Benjamin, Martin Henderson, Woody "Friends" Harrelson and Ray "Narc" Liotta.Stuart Townsend writes/directs, looking at a November start, in an action film focusing on riots during the 1999 World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle.
Vancouver-based Insight Film Studios is producing with LA's Proud Mary Entertainment. Hyde Park Entertainment and Remstar are signed on as producing partners. Budget is pegged at $10 million, with Endeavor Independent arranging financing.The film will use 'interlocking strands' to tell the story of the WTO meeting and subsequent riots from the POV of protesters, pedestrians and police.
Producers are Insight's Kirk Shaw and Proud Mary's Mary Aloe. Hyde Park's Ashok Amritraj will executive produce.
