CW Doesn't Fear The "Reaper"...

The CW Network has picked up the Vancouver-shot, supernatural series "Reaper" for a second season.

The show will return for 13 episodes midseason, paired with "Supernatural" on Thursday nights after "Smallville" concludes its run.

Both "Supernatural" and "Smallville" are also lensed in Vancouver.

The network made the decision Monday, going down to the wire on picking up the series before the CW's upfront presentation to advertisers the next day.

"Reaper" has averaged a 1.0 rating among adults 18 to 49. The show initially impressed critics with its strong pilot directed by Kevin "Clerks" Smith.

Premise of the series follows 'Sam', who realizes on his 21st birthday that his parents sold his sold his soul to the devil before he was born.

When 'Satan' drops by to personally explain that Sam must now serve as his bounty hunter, Sam refuses to accept his fate, finding his new line of work dangerous and frightening, with the help of friends/co-workers 'Bert "Sock" Wysocki', 'Ben' and 'Josie'...
